Awesome chapter. The Uchiha Bros. are going to destroy (not literally) Bows- I mean Kabuto. Kabuto has all of Taka’s minus Sasuke’s powers and Snake Sage. I really do hate him more now. Orochimaru would be way better in his place of he could have escaped Itachi. Karin an Uzumaki? Expected but still I hate it. Naruto, Nagato, Kurshina, and Mito are all cool, but I despise Karin.

Awesome chapter, one I can’t wait for to be animated! I’m starting to like Sasuke again bit by bit. He’s acting rationally, not to mention fight in synch with Itachi. They are being brothers for the first time after the Uchiha massacre, which is just awesome! Kabuto on the other hand just makes me want to vomit. I really hate his personality now, first being Oro’s right hand man and now trying to be all high and mighty with powers that are just stolen. Without it, he would just be another weak crybaby. I really hope after the Edo Tensei has been stopped, the Uchiha brothers will kill him merciless. What I’m curious about is one thing Kabuto said: Orochimaru’s body was not compatible to obtain the Snake Sage power, so what makes Kabuto’s body so special? The fact he has Karin’s Uzumaki chakra and healing ability?

I think Karin being an Uzumaki is a very interesting turning point within the series. It’s great that more Uzumaki’s are being revealed, which could benefit Naruto as well if he finds out. Naruto has the Uzumaki’s powers as well, so he needs an Uzumaki to teach him to tap into them. Since Nagato, Kushina and Mito are long dead, Karin would be the only one left to do so.

Wait.. too much information in this chapter! Kabuto managed to steal the power of the Houzuki Clan and Karin and Juugo, right? (Karin is an Uzumaki, so great! Alive clan members are being revealed!!!)
Abilities: smart, can turn to liquid form, can heal himself, can absorb energy, can use snakes. Not just toad sages but snake sages? X”D It’s too much. Really powerful.
I’m trying to find out how the Uchiha brothers could defeat him. Taijutsu is not effective, neither normal ninjutsu. New sharingan techniques maybe?

What about Shikkotsurin? Mount Myoboku and Ryuchido are mentioned: do you think that Shikkotsurin is the land of slugs? It would be so much surprise seeing Tsunade use some fantastic powers against Madara.

Kabuto is sooo sweet im a sasuke fan head to toe but idk how this will end.. A dragon cool. But if there a sages for only three animals that would suck it b cool if sasuke bird told him about some sage hawk thing..i wish it would hav been naruto sage vs kabutos

ok awesome chapter and now that kabutos a dragon i personally feel is a much better trasnation for a snake then a hawk (no offense sasuke). But what i wanna know is karin nnew naruto was a uzamki why not be like omg were from the same clan. Also so like does that mean that kabutos in sage mode now or atleast a snake version of sage mode and it turns the snake into a dragon. does that mean slugs also has like a slug sage mode that turns them into like a super bug or something. (these arent literal theories just some curious thoughts)
Also ftr im naruto boy 16 its just that name does fit me anymore cause well im no longer 16 just to avoid any confusion

@3 eh, I guess. I just don’t like Karin for her creepy fangirlism for Sasuke. He really is nothing special yet is in a clan that was strong and related to the Senju and has 3 people who held Kurama and a Rinnegan user and I’m supposed to buy that crap. Sure she has amazing healing chakra but Tsunade is the world’s best medic.

I guessed there was more sage modes as far back as when Jiraya fought Pein. I was like hmm all of the sennins have a sage mode based on their contracted animal. Ans so far we have 2 out of 3. But I think Tsunade would have used it during Pein`s attack on Konoha if she did.
I found it interesting that and good that it was completely cleared out that Nagato was an Uzumaki and rather interesting to know Karin was one tough the red hair should have been a give away.

Oh boy Kabuto has spent many years stealing many abilities from Jugo, Karin Uzumaki, and Suigetsu, and now he has dragon sage mode…The Uchiha brothers have their hands full. I really think gaara is of Uzumaki blood (red hair) lol. Lmao the giant white snake in that realm reminded me of the toads in myobukuzan with a cigar in his mouth lol. Sasuke=Dr.Snakes 😀

Well, we have only seen Karin heal Sasuke, so no techniques for that matter. I’m sure now that we know she is an Uzumaki, we’ll get to see more of what she can do since she IS from that clan.

It’s an easy answer: if you found out that the enemy of your crush holds the same name, would you go like: “OMG!! We’re from the same clan!” ? At least I wouldn’t. Furthermore, Sasuke nearly killed Karin, so even after Sakura healed her she couldn’t say that much. She is a Konoha prisoner after all.

Yeah yeah I know Karin is an Uzumaki Mistic, but I don’t have to like it. The only reason I’m ok with Kabuto getting all these upgrades is he has the honorary title of main villain number 2 out of 4. Shikotsurin, I know where that is! *goes to where Gaara and Lee fought Kimimaro*
Joking ofcourse but yeah I don’t understand why the slugs are likely living in bones. We assume slugs do to the other areas mentioned were for the snakes and toads.

I guess it was cause she seemed so… Unimportant that I wouldn’t have guessed that she was an Uzumaki, she has more respect from me now.
As far as Kabuto goes, he only gets his strength from stealing other peoples abilities.. He’s ass and I hope they can cast the Genjutsu on him then kill his ass

At least he had the decency to point it out himself (“If you don’t have talent, claim it from others”).
Also, Kabuto claiming to be a dragon is just awesome. His skills as well are really beyond that of Orochimaru if he can use all of his skills as well as he can.

Much like when fighting against Itachi, Sasuke will probably ‘save the day’ with a large scale jutsu, something able to defeat Dragon-mode Kabuto, of which I think is quite powerful (given that Orochimaru longed for this kind of power).
I suppose the chance that Orochimaru takes over is rather big as well…

@17 It kind of reminds me of the time when they said Jiraiya wasnt as skilled as Naruto in using the sage-mode.
Makes sense, because he is orochimaru’s student.

I see Kabuto fight as a way to train Sasuke to fight Naruto. Sasuke was able to dodge a attack from Killer Bee after seeing the chakra cloak from Naruto. Now he will get to see how Sage mode operated.
And I think the only reason Itachi is there is so we can see or compare the strength between Eternal Mangeky? Sharingan and Mangeky? Sharingan. We can already see Sasuke was able to pin point Kabuto while Itachi couldn’t.
My idea ending for this fightg is to see Sasuke holding a Kabuto head bodiless because he won’t died from any wound and then cast a genjutsu on him.

Well actually, Karin does know. When she was brought to Konoha by team 7, she looked at Naruto saying: ” So this is Uzumaki Naruto, his chakra is the complete opposite of that of Sasuke.” That given, I agree with KD1994, she does not know she is an Uzumaki. I think Karin has been abducted by Orochimaru at a very young age, which would explain her not knowing her inheritance.

True, but that still makes Kabuto nothing more than a weak little crybaby who has to rely on others’ powers all the time. As you said, I hope Orochimaru takes control, I like him way more than Kabuto. Oro has always been the third antagonist for me (after Akatsuki and Sasuke), so it would only be rightful if that happened in my opinion.

@the sparringpanther yup i am 17 (ugh im old XP) EliteExpertZero umm i dont care how immortal u are unless ur hidan having ur head chopped off will kill you so poss hes just gonna have to wait for sage mode to end. I have a feeling this battle will end with 3 or 4 chapters because u can only stay in sage mode for like 5 mins and i think kabtuos gonna try and end this fight really quick. also @mystic vegeta u have a point there but then again he also took kimmiaro and sugiuestu when they were pretty young and they still know there last names.

Snake/Dragon Sage? Wow. Like the rest I wonder if there is a slug sage. But the fact that Kabuto had to steal all of the abilities of Taka save Sasuke proves how much of a snake he is….no pun intended. To be honest i dont even think Karin knows she’s an Uzumaki but if she does she probably didn’t know Naruto’s last name.
Now here is the real problem. Taijutsu doesn’t work on Toad Sage so I highly doubt it will work on Kabuto. Certain ninjutsu isn’t as effective if u can’t touch him. So how will Itachi and Sasuke be able to handle this one (though we know they will probably win since Itachi deduced he was a Sage already)
Also I would have loved to see Sage Naruto versus Sage Kabuto that would make for an interesting fight. This fight with Kabuto may help with Sasuke’s fight with Naruto in terms of SAGE mode but i’m not sure if he will be fully prepared for the Tailed Beast Mode

@kjames i agree that would be a really awesome fight. also imagine if sasuke learned how to enter snake sage mode and sakura managed to learn slug sage mode (if it exists) she would be so strong like raw strength she would compeltly outclass ino :p

@11 its very unlikely that gaara is an uzumaki seeing as how his mom and sister have blonde hair and his dad and brother have brown i think if he was atleast one other family member would have red hair
Overall good chapter cant wait to see more my theory is that sasuk will kill kabuto even tho itachi said not to or come real close and itachi will have to attack sasuke to stop him from killing him because i think as soon as the edo tensi is released hes gona go back to wanting to destroy the leaf unless itachi actually gets to talk to him

This brought an idea from his dragon sage now that naruto have control over the nine tails does that mean he can sync with the toads n what will he look like n n mind =blown on Kirin being a uzamake, I thing she don’t know that yet cuz naruto have yellow hair n she prolly trying to figure out of all the ninja in the village his the only one with the uzamaki uniform on so I think she’s going to ask some one about it. Bs chapter. Tired of kabuto just get to steal everybody powers and technique. Also so tired of edo. I mean every jutsu on the show( no matter how unrealistic) as been eexplained like izanagi. But edo crap is too much. the revived, example madara is just too much. The man made 25 WOOD clone wit ems and techniques. How does he have that vast amount of charka to pull this off. Dead bodies don’t have chakra. And they let it b known on th show that if a living person runs out they die. He can’t get chakra from kabuto cuz doesn’t enuff for this plus if he did how u cuz he revived thousands of ninjas he can’t supply them all wit chakra. Also he can’t get if from the host body cuz they r dead.also kabuto rivived almost every shinobi every talked about which is a cheap way for kishi to write a war plot. Finally, how did kabuto have time to perfect edo, learn and master sage mode,steal and implant jugo and karin and suigstu dna in himself and master their jutsu, find all the dna needed for edo, and kill all the ppl to b host bodies for edo in the time span of oro dyin and the wat startin

i think kabuto being in a sage mode has huge amount of chakra like naruto does! that’s why he can summon these many edo tensei.
@ 30 madara has huge amount of chakra after all he was the third powerful shinobi after hashirama. that’s why he can create 25 wood clones

And since edo makes his chakra unlimited, why doesn’t he just susanoo on during the whole fight since he can’t run out off chakra. Having a lot of chakra does not mean that you have infinite chakra. I mean, we are talking about the third strongest to ever exist… Give him some credit. Also, why did you say that dead bodies do not have charka? That is not true, they are revived the way they died. Complete with chakra. Seriously, those are the ‘rules’ that are stated.
Also I would like to say that Kabuto had acces to all research Orochimaru did in his life. So perfecting Edo (which Orochimaru was undoubtly busy with), implanting DNA in himself (Orochimaru transefered from bodies on certain occasions) and training to become a sage is not all that hard for somebody from his standard.

Well, let us not forget that Kabuto can always be forced to run out of Nature Chakra. Also, if the two brothers spam their MS techniques they should be doing fine…

Vegeta, I know it is your opinion, but I think Kabuto is a fine shinobi. He himself has stated that he was always living in his masters shadow and that it was his goal to surpass him. Its not really weird that they are using the powers of somebody they want to surpass that person. Orochimaru wanted the Sharingan of Sasuke so that he could surpass the Uchiha and their skills. Madara implanted Hashirama’s cells in himself as well.
Also, Kabuto is ninja who could hold his own against Tsunade just fine. He was unmodified at that time. He had no problem taking on Kakashi either…
But I do agree that Orochimaru is a better antagonist than Kabuto is. He has more ‘evil’ traits, so to say…

If it was just that, I would be fine with the way things are going, but next to having Oro’s powers also having Suigetsu’s liquid body, Karin’s healing chakra AND Juugo’s nature chakra absortion? This is getting waaaaay out of line if you ask me. Like you said, Kabuto held his own against Tsunade and Kakashi so he was powerful to begin with. But now Kabuto is just as overpowered as Naruto, Sasuke and Madara. It is ok for the latter three since the series revolve around them, but Kabuto? Come on. Oro was THE pre-timeskip antagonist, so in my humble opinion it would only be fair if it was Orochimaru fighting the Uchiha brothers and not Kabuto. Also it is Orochimaru who has a score to settle with the both of them, not Kabuto.

We currently don`t know much about the Snake/Dragon Sage Mode, for all we know it could be 10 minutes or even 15! A long shot even here but who know.I agree Kabuto who could hold his own against Tsunade(tough scared for some part, because of her fear of blood.) and stated to could hold his own against Kakashi.I am afraid I have to agree that Orochimaru would be a better Antagonist, tough he would most likely go on to be a third faction.
The time would be at most 2 months: the implants could be done in a week, mastery of it done during the time he used to learn the Sage mode. And the Edo Tensei I believe he could have learned it from Orochimaru before he died, He also stated when he met Naruto and Yamato that he was “intending to get control of his implants and the skills they gave”

5/5 I can’t wait to see if Kabuto’s OP or not; someone else predicted that kabuto’s under itachi’s genjutsu like when he did it to deidara; when he activated his ms to tell kabuto what his weakness was he probably used ephemeral on him 😀

ya i agree with kross i mean how do we no that like a month went by between the time naruto goes to learn senjustu and the invasion of pain. Also im assuming it took some time to get back to konoha afte failing to bring back sasuke so im guessing a couple of months had pasted from the time of kabuto giving naruto the bingo book and the start of the war. Also for all we know there was some preparation time like in the anime.

I guess i didnt think about that considering that Sasuke has EMS and Itachi is an Edo summon which means his MS cant blind him. And considering that you cant stay in Toad Sage mode long i guess the same assumption can be made for snake/dragon sage. I guess we will have to wait and see.

lets also not forget that Kabuto had a hobby of collecting dead bodies way back in Pt. 1 so I assume he was able to collect some more while Orochimaru was still alive and during the Sasuke Retrieval mission.

Having read all comments and formulating my thoughts, I found the answer while reading your last post. Sort of.
You are right, Kabuto IS just as overpowered as the rest, which would be strange if he wasn’t as this point. My thought is: what IF, Orochimaru is seeping through? Kabuto did say (back in the day) that he absorbed the old snake. By doing this, he gained all of Orochimarus abilities (jutsu, knowledge etc.) and with Madara (both) being the post-timeskip antagonist and knowing Oro-boy and his nature, wouldn’t it be possible for his persona to surface at this point?
After all, Oro tried to take both Uchiha-brothers and failed. Then, with Kabuto and his medical skills, with the latter absorbing the former, Orochimaru is taking over Kabuto’s mind bit by bit. And since we don’t know all of it, maybe Orochimaru’s last order to Kabuto was: If anything happens to me before I can take Sasuke’s body, absorb me and make me live on forever. ?
Just a theory and thought, would be nice to hear everyones opinion.
And again, based on what Oro-boy did before the series started, this is possible.

All I can say is that I fully agree with you. I hope Orochimaru takes over and gets a second chance at taking on Sasuke and Itachi. It definitely would be something he would order Kabuto to do.
The only thing that would be (sadly) contradicting this, is that Kabuto shows no indication that this was the plan all along. He clearly stated he took all those powers for himself alone, not for Orochimaru. He also claims to have surpassed Orochimaru. Whatever the case may be, hopefully Orochimaru takes over and makes an appearance in this fight, with Sasuke and Itachi killing both him and Kabuto.

Two theories comes to mind.
1: Orochimaru is waiting for the moment to emerge and take his revenge, and all the “hurry up or I kill you”-sentiments he showed earlier were real, but this was a back-up in case something went wrong before he could get Sasuke’s body. Oro-boy knew lots of things so this plan is something he would do.
Theory 2: Kabuto, after years of brainwashing, snapped when Oro was sealed and died, leaving him two options; run and hide, or claim Orochimaru’s ideas as his own. And with Kabuto’s medical skills, he perfected the Edo Tensei and other things that will help him. And because Oro was beaten three times by two brothers, Kabuto will take revenge and then use their corpses to further his ambitions. Whatever they may be.
Back in the day (pre-timeskip) during Chuunin-exams, even Oro stated that he could never tell what that boy was thinking.

My idea for a naruto fight while not prepared. naruto fighting kabuto, kage bunshin separate the clones away and let them gather nature energy while using the energy he has, and when he needs it disperse a clone for it. make sure to keep kabuto busy so he doesn’t figure out narutos plan. or anybody he faces, just a cool battle situation 🙂

Just saying: Even if Karin is an Uzumaki, we have no evidence or proof that she herself knows that. There are plenty of people in the ninja world who are completely clueless about her lineage and she’s likely to be one of them. That would be quite a shame, but it’s very possible

Are you referring to Sasori’s mind block in theory 2? Because if you are, that doesn’t really make much sense, considering Orochimaru himself broke the seal that was placed on Kabuto – probably something he learned to do while he was Sasori’s partner.

Honestly this is show i see the serise progressing fight with kabuto last still around 581 or 582, then naruto and his friends fight against tobi till around 588 or 589, the fight with madara not sure, sasuke naruto rematch maybe 597 then like 4 or 5 chapters closing up the serises and tieing in loose knots. These are pure specaltion but if u think about it there not exactly out landsih assuming that these 3 battles ares the only ones that will contiune to take place. and like any fight lasting more than 6 or 7 chapters in a row tends to get boring.
