Word by way of Toonzone, at the New York Comic Con Viz announced that the first Naruto boxed will be released July 4, 2006. The set includes the first 13 episodes on 3 DVDs, with complete English and Japanese language soundtracks and several extras which have not been released in the U.S. or Japan.

What’s Ahead for the Anime

3-15-06 Episode 176: Zig Zag Run! Chase, Chased, Mistaken
3-22-06 Episode 177: OH?! Please, Mister Postman
3-29-06 Episode 178: Encounter, The Boy Named “Hoshi”
Episode 179 was figured to be the start of the Kakashi Gaiden, but the title for 178 certainly does not sound like a title pointing to the end of the first part of the series. Hopefully that means 179 will incorporate the last few bits that were in the last normal manga chapter, before Kakashi Gaiden officially begins.

Updated Clash of the Ninja Hands On

Gamespot has a new hands on with Clash of the Ninja, the American dubbed release of Gekitou Ninja Taisen 1. The article provides what is probably a fair take on this first incarnation, your best bet is probably to save your money for the sequel coming later this year.
Update: IGN has also updated with a new hands on and video preview.

Episode 173 has aired in Japan. The filler arc comes to an end and Naruto pulls out the big gun!… Episode 173 is titled Sea Battle, Released Power.
