Word by way of Anime News Network, here are the titles for upcoming anime:
3-15-06 Episode 176: Zig Zag Run! Chase, Chased, Mistaken
3-22-06 Episode 177: OH?! Please, Mister Postman
3-29-06 Episode 178: Encounter, The Boy Named “Hoshi”
Episode 179 was figured to be the start of the Kakashi Gaiden, but the title for 178 certainly does not sound like a title pointing to the end of the first part of the series. Hopefully that means 179 will incorporate the last few bits that were in the last normal manga chapter, before Kakashi Gaiden officially begins.
Update: Pazuzu has provided us with updated title translations.

You guys are selectively reading what I say… The title for 178 has little chance to be refering to the Kakashi Gaiden. 179 itself *may* end part one, but it could just as easily be another filler. Don’t get too excited yet.

Kakashi is a jounin when it first starts off, and I assume (though I could be wrong) that Obito and Rin are both chuunin and they are still a group under the 4th hokage to be (he isn’t actually hokage yet)

I don’t see at all how episode 179, let alone 178 be the Kakashi Gaiden. In the manga, their is no mention what-so-ever of a man named Hoshi. The only way it COULD be the start is if Hoshi is the name of Yondaime Hokage (which would seem SO uncool for someone nicknamed “Konoha’s Yellow Flash.”

Well, the question is, is KG the end of Season Seven or the beginning of Season Eight? I’m guessing it’s about three to four episodes long, and since Season Eight would begin at episode 183(?) then 179 or 180 would begin it. However, if it is the beginning of Season Eight, then 183 would begin KG.

hoshi means star in japanese, so I doubt it could be yondaime’s name ^^ girlish name.

this sucks. The latest post-thingy on here jsut said that episode 179 is…. MORE FILLER! CRAP! I hate these stupid fillers…. I may never get to see younger Kakashi and Obito until episode 6,93948! lol.
