It’s confirmed that Tobi knows Kakashi, and Kakashi knows Tobi…. Even though the evidence isn’t proven I guess it’s safe to say that we finally know Tobi’s true identity….. And finally the Juubi’s been revived, I know it’s a little too early but man I can’t wait until next week (Anyone knows how to accelerate time?)

Tobi incomplete juubi is going to fail for the moon eye plan, but it will be nice to see how naruto and the rest of them stand up to an incomplete ten tails.
I never believed that obito was tobi, because it doesnt add up and it still doesnt add up unless we find out about zetsu past, because he seems to be the key to this big mystery. But with this chapter it starts questioning that maaybe tobi and obito might and i mean might (since there is not much proof) be obito.

We still have to do with nine tails attack and uchiha massacre before we can say Tobi is Obito. But as Kakashi was 13/14 around the Nine tails attack means that it could not be Obito.

I’m kinda torn on the whole Obito/Tobi debate.
I don’t think the original Tobi we see in Kisame’s and Minato’s flashbacks is Obito, but I think Obito is most definitly a part of Tobi.
And I thnink that because of his body resembling that of Zetsu’s, the fact that people recognize him as the 4th Mizukage and Madara and his split personality between the fake madara and tobi(childish version). He might’ve taken Obito’s body during the war, therefor maybe having his memories too. which could explain why he knows so much about kakashi and guy.
Who he really is,I dont have a clue.

there are so many possiblities for who tobi could be
1. just a regular uchiha that kakashi and guy know
2.obito (doubt it)
3. rin (that one was just for laughs, but possible)
4. The orginal zetsu, who took over obito’s memories and personalities and then made advance zetsu clones (black/white zetsu)

Wtf kurama qouting wrong facts either narutopedia is completely wrong or kurama doesn’t know that the third raikage temporarily sealed the eight tails in the pot he refers to on page 11 and he came back out so is this a plot hole or am I just wrong

Seriously man, chill out. The fact Tobi knows about Kakashi’s past, doesn’t tell us he’s Obito at all. In addition, Obito only witnessed half of Kakashi’s life. He was the first to die on Team Minato remember?
Next to that, Tobi actually fought on par with Minato, when Kakashi was about the same age as Naruto is now. Obito is Kakashi’s age. There is no way Obito (who just activated an incomplete sharingan before he died) can fight evenly with Hokage Minato. So please, get a hold of yourself before getting an orgasm by just reading a panel.

I disagree with you, I do think it was the same Tobi during all events. It could be possible though he holds Uchiha DNA from either Kagami’s, Shisui’s (we were never told what happened to his body) or Obito’s body. Zetsu is definitely the key to all of this.

Narutopedia is off facts. It is true the pot was used to seal the 8tails, but he was resealed within Bee. This means the 8tails chakra left the pot as well, leaving no traces. That’s why Ino-Shika-Cho could seal Ginkaku within the pot.

@17 it was kinkaku lol had to. but in seriousness thats true like maybe u can extract charka and not the body out of the pot idk. i’ve never been an obito is tobi believer but seriously every single time the whole obito is tobi thing quites down kishi releases a chapter that sparks it back up. hey i was thinking and this is pure spectualation maybe tobi is a like oro and can use the soul transfer justu and the orignal tobi is just been switching bodys but hes perfected it beyond oro and can switch on whim maybe thats how hes been able to heal himself like when he lost his arm and suff like i said pure specutlation

@19 that’s sort of what I meant. I dont think he can swith between personalities, I just mean he act as if he is, by (maybe) taking their DNA, he can act and look as if he’s the real deal. Just like when he acted like the 4th mizukage and madara infront of Kisame at the same time. Therefor he could know things from the memories of other people who’s DNA he stole. IF he indeed took Obito’s DNA, he could act and look like him and maybe screw with kakashi’s head a bit.

Naruto was given charka from the 2-7 tails… And he could also get some from the 8 tails. I think he could revive a incomplete 10 tails also. That has to be it. Why else would the other tailed beast have given them their charka?

@22 he’s still missing some from shukaku he might be the one tails but he still plays a intergal part in the 10 tails. My guess is that madara will leave his battle and join this one and the 5 kage will follow him after healing themselves and garra who might still have some residual charka will give it to naruto and then maybe he could as u say make his own incomplete 10 tails

Ok just point out from previous points, tobi was not the mizukage he just merely controlled the third tail jinchuriki who was the mizukage.

hey guys can someone please explain to me why tobi HAVE to be a zetsu clone or obito why cant he just be an uchiha from konoha that both kakashi and guy know. I mean until 6 or 7 yrs before the uchiha genocide there were alot of uchiha maybe some slipped under the radar and went into hiding.

@narutoboy17 tobi has to be something other then a normal human because in previos fights one with the 4th and the other with Danzo’s lackies when tobi was “wounded” a white gooey substance oozes from that point. What human doesn’t bleed? And in that fight with Danzo’s lackies I’m talking about tobi cut/squeezed his arm off then a few episodes later he has two arms again? Who does that?

For godsake, I don’t mind you posting ideas and speculations, but do not post things that didn’t happen. Tobi clarified NOTHING to Kakashi. The only thing we know is that Tobi knows about Kakashi’s life and personality.
Obito only witnessed HALF of Kakashi’s life, as he died at the age of 13.
We DO know how many years after that Tobi attacked the Leaf, if you know your maths that is.
When Obito died, Kakashi just became a Jounin. Kakashi’s age then was 13 as well.
Right now Kakashi’s age is 30. The Kyuubi attack was 16 years ago. 30 – 16 means Kakashi was 14 during the Kyuubi attack.
14 – 13 = 1. This means The Kyuubi attacked the Leaf only a year after Obito passed away. There is NO WAY a 14 year old Obito could control the Kyuubi, walk through walls and match Hokage Minato’s speed and power.
So please, before posting anymore of your crap, I suggest you check your sources thoroughly first.

@Uchiha Izuna, You see kakashi and Guy, they are both young no older than Naruto is no but most likely 13-14. Which yet again blows Tobi is Obito out the window. his comment to Kakashi was meant about the Jubbi, and the comment to Guy was that he would not know even if he should. Kakashi is known in most of the Shinobi world while he learned about Guy from Kisame.

Look how Tobi changed before our eyes since he ‘joined’ Akatsuki. We still don’t know who Tobi really is. But he knows Naruto, Itachi, Kakashi, Minato and Orochimaru(!) very well. It has the possibility that Tobi and Uchiha Madara are two different people. Also, Uchiha Madara could have created Tobi with the Rinnegan eyes. Tobi is a bit older than the Sannins and younger than the Third Hokage in my opinion. Does it make sense?
A normal shinobi couldn’t use Sharingan or Rinnegan on such a high level, so he’s probably an Uchiha. He’s massive amount of chakra (could summon Kyuubi and control it), definitely not Obito. Also, Uchiha Madara died sometime in the past, as only dead people can be revived by Edo Tensei. The connection between Orochimaru and Tobi can be the key, I think. They surely did experiments together (see Hashirama’s DNA->Yamato), Madara’s Edo Tensei gained Mokuton abilities as we saw. Then who is Tobi?
Kagami might be a possible candidat, I say: might! Still mysterious. When Kyuubi attacked Konoha, all the elders were in fight with him, except Danzou and Kagami. Tobi knows about the Root (Sasuke vs Danzou fight)…
Also, Tobi can be a result of experiments, I mean, we don’t know surely why Orochimaru started working on Kinjutsu. This mystery involves Zetsu pretty much too. We saw Tobi from the back while he fixed his right arm in his laboratory, look at the background, white substance, resemles to White Zetsu. (chapter 486 page 5).
If we regard ourselves as true Naruto fans, we must figure out who Tobi really is!!!

So I found an internet cafe here in Tokyo, read the chapter and HAD to check out what you guys would say about it, so Ill just react on some of the comments made by my fellow fans.
Personally, I think of Tobi as a partial Zetsu clone, and therefore carries Senju DNA. Mystic Vegeta and myself discussed it way back, and it makes sense if you listen to my reasoning.
Tobi has this white substance which enables an almost instant regeneration. I have never EVER seen Orochimaru regenerate like that. He would regenarte his entire body, or not. But not just certain parts of his body. Also, like MysticVegeta explained, Tobi being Obito can not possibly be true, there are too many facts which do not match up with reality.
Further proof of him being a Zetsu comes in the form of his prolonged use of Izanagi. Uchiha themselves are able to use this technique, but it probably is an instantaneous use of the tech. Tobi was able to use it for 10 minutes and avoid all damage dealt by Konan.
His statement of being ‘nobody’ is also favorable towards him being a Zetsu. Given that he is a creation, it would be fair to claim that he is really ‘nobody’.
It could be very possible that he was just created with the revival of Madara in mind, but with the statment of Kabuto (through Muu) “I am not sure what he will do” it is fairly safe to say that his plan differs from the original.
Finally, the statements of both Itachi and himself about being a ‘shell’ of his former self, that said being an imperfect clone, strengthen my argument.
With Madara creating Tobi he has both the “talent” of Madara as the “body” of Zetsu/Madara, just so Madara could create a more perfect clone of himself (but failed). I guess he wanted Tobi to live on as himself, the creation failed, but Tobi kept on living with those ideals, something like that
But then again, Tobi’s hair looks like that of Obito, so even if he was crushed by a rock, he being a thirtheen year-old could have turned evil and all powerful, found a demon-fox and used it to bombard the town where his best friend lived, after which he found his sensei and went head to head with him. Very legit theory if you ask me.

Also, in the previous chapter I stated that the Gedo Mazo holds the body of the Ten Tails, guess I was right
Also, he knows some things about Kakashi and Guy. Isn’t it possible that he had Zetsu observe all the fights that Akatsuki members had, and use that info. That Guy does not remember was revealed in his battles against Kisame for example. Also, after he had met with Tobi after the Itachi persuit, Tobi could have him tailed as a potential threat.

I said so earlier as well, during the Konan vs Tobi fight we only saw a Sharingan underneath the mask, but no skin. That could have been a Black Zetsu skin, given that he is part Zetsu.

If Tobi = Zetsu, Oro did not create it. Remember how Kabuto asked Tobi for DNA on the Zetsu? That would not be needed if he would have all the information on Orochimaru’s research.

Is it possble that Tobi is the brother of Madara? I mean we know Madara took his eyes but what if that activates the dimension switching that Tobi is doing.
Anyways i think it might be possible it is him when we saw him take of the mask at Sasuke his skin looked in bad shape around his eye well maybe that is because his eyes got pulled out by his brother.

Partly Zetsu theory makes sense as we can see difference in color between his face and his palms. -> Also, in order to hide it, Tobi wears gloves.

@57 Yes, I checked it and you are probably correct. To all the others; this movie centers around an alternate narutoverse. This means that Tobi’s identity could differ in the original storyline. This goes for all the characters: Sasuke seems to be a Don Juan, Shikamaru is a perv, Chouji is slim, Neji is a douche and Hinata is bitchy. Just saying.

Tobi is Obito’s father. He was one of the first experiments of Orochimaru that eventually got too strong for Orochi to control. After his escape for Orochi’s control, he then finds out that his son, Obito, had died. He vows revenge on the ninja world and especially on Minato for failing to save his son (since he was the Team Leader). He then unleashed the 9 tales on the Leaf… etc. etc.

First: The one shot was a nice peek of the future, too bad it takes another year..
Second: Speculations are hilarious, Tobi is Obito/isn’t Obito/Obitos father.. wild guesses and fun to read. I side with the Tobi is *insert other*, NO OBITO-side. I could be wrong, but based on evidence (provided by Horatio Caine) Tobi is a cloneish thing from Madara and Zetsu and possibly someone else.
Third: Nice to see that Naruto and Kurama bonded, needed for the plot and provided a good backstory to the events.
Fourth: we know that something big will happen soon, even all those who felt that this ch was too much talk and no action. This will flow better soon when we have afew more ch, or eps.
Fifth: Andrew: nice theory, we’ll see how it plays out. Still possible, as always with Kishi.
Sis and final: *excessicve exclamations and profanity* –cliffhangers! Why the torment? To keep us going back week after week.
Oh. And, Jiraya is Tobi, Hanzou is Kabutos father and Orochimaru is the unobtainium of the Narutoverse xD

tobi is definitely someone entrusted with madara’s beef against konoha. also knowledgeable and experienced with the ninja world. i wouldn’t say he’s a zetsu clone, maybe he’s the one who created zetsu–with madara’s help (being to get some hashirama DNA).
Uchiha kagami is definitely a nobody, as far as the series goes. Maybe that’s what’s he’s implying. kagami maybe an uchiha medic and did experiments and stuff much like kabuto and was secretly a disciple of madara. maybe.
tobi is definitely someone overlooked. him being a zetsu clone just makes him appear like a second-rate character. i don’t know why would someone say the dark part of his mask was the black zetsu side. it’s just shadow.
what i’m really wondering about is how come tobi doesn’t use MS? and how come he likes to wear cool masks?

Hey Guys I think Tobi is a part of madara,As when Madara was about to die,he made Tobi,a part of himself,sort of Lord voldemort from Harry potter,to take his revenge on Leaf.So maybe he created Zetzu through some sort of weird chakra that he already had[The white one].That explains the part that Tobi oozes out White substances and the fact that he knows so much about everything.

In the anime they show us itachi holding sasuke telling him to shut up from which we can guess the age of shisui who is a comrade of itachi.he would be too young to fight the yondaime and secondly during the fight with yondaime tobi has a white substance leaking from his left arm.why would shisui have that(hashirama’s cells) and thirdly we all know the class of itachi and the love he has for konoha.wouldn’t he be able to tell that his best friend is a betrayer.

It really is simple who Tobi could or should be in my opinion the only logical person with powers to rival Madara is his brother Izuna or son Shishio don’t know if he is but it seems whoever he is they lost both of there eyes and replaced them with others . 1. they could slip in an out of the leaf my guess Anbu 2. knew of current and past affairs in village .
