Viz is launching a new Naruto book line later this year. It’s unclear if this is brand new material or some translation of existing material.
“The Naruto Chapter Book series is the latest addition to the company’s VIZKIDS imprint designed for younger readers. It tells the action-packed saga of a boy named Naruto Uzumaki who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest ninja. The stories are designed to reinforce positive messages about friendship, teamwork, resilience and overcoming adversity through a variety of adventures inspired by the original manga series. Each Chapter Book edition is based on the original concept by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto and will be presented in an 80-page volume in the traditional Western style (left to right), complemented by illustrations, a map, a glossary and more!”

Viz is trying to make some money quick. I hate when they do this. Don’t ruin it then they already have for Naruto. Leave it like it is.

It’ll be like Naruto as though 4kids got ahold of it. I’m interested in how it will look though, as it seems that if it’s left-to-right, maybe it’s American drawn? *remembers American-drawn Speed Racer cartoon and shudders* Seriously, we should leave that to Japan.
Whatever the case, it’s just Viz trying to market off the dub-fan crowd. Man, even going after the little kids, how sad.

Guys, this is something whole separate from Viz’s release of the Naruto manga, this is just some new line of books they’re going to be runnning in addition to the normal manga.

According to a recent news post by ANN, Viz is targeting these Naruto chapter books to the age group of 7 to 10 year olds. Basically, 2nd graders to 5th graders will be able to read Naruto now.
I guess Naruto is a cash cow that Viz wants to milk.

Well, Naruto was meant for kids in JAPAN because they’re allowed to watch more mature things earlier than in America. Kids here are too sheltered, in my opinion. And I wonder what they’re going to do about some of the parts with Jiraiya? Heh, that should be funny…

omg ^_^ will it be the childhood of the children? If it’s for pre-school, then kids their own age would make more sense to them…I’d SO get it, if, you know, it was them as little kids xD
