Now we know where Orochimaru got his interest in immortality.

These are 2 of the top 10 naruto epidodes ever. They peice all the flashbacks togethere that we didnt no and even showing nagatos rinnegan eyes. Jiriya was a very good guy and we seen narutos mom(whos hot lol) and we now no the strong bond jiriya and minato once had. And we now no tsunade always wanted jiriya to return cause you could see her feelings for him and Orochimaru is just a beast when he was young not caring who he killed and what i love that in him.

this also means that they will show the same things in jiraya’s flashback later on =]

I usually dislike fillers, but I was genuinely pleased with these episodes. I’ve always wanted to know J-man’s history. Now we do and I think that’s pretty damn awesome.

This was a special dedicated solely to Jiraiya’s life, some of the material was shown from the manga WAY ahead of time, Jiraiya’s book and the three kids in particular. Still it was cool to see Jiraiya growing up from a perveted child to becoming the Toad Sage he is now, his destiny is revealed, to train the “revolutionary” who change the world, either bringing true peace or complete destruction, I won’t spoil what happens next but it’s quite a battle, Jiraiya fans will be pleased.

Did anyone else notice that Minato had one red eye towards the end of the episode while mimicing Jiraya?

@ SilverUchiha
The two eps weren’t actually fillers…in the sense that they were actually part of the manga’s storyline (just like the Kakashi Gaiden). Personally, I think that those two eps were some of the best in the series, coz we really got to know so much about J-man’s back story, as well as Naruto’s family and the three lil kids who would later become…well…let’s just say it’s complicated. But, again in my own opinion, this part also precedes one of the saddest parts of the story concerning J-man, but I aint giving spoilers. All in all, I’d give the eps a 10/10.

compare the anime from the manga and it’s sooo late..
the anime is like in chapter 420 something
fillers kinda have a good side and a bad side
bad side: you’re late
good side: extra info
so i read manga and watch anime too

The first part was the same as the orginal naruto episode (kind of). I dont remember the episode number though

I think it’s cute that they’ve brought these kind of episodes in. We know all about the teenagers and its nice to find out a bit more about the older characters that are just as important as the younguns. I mean in comparison to half of Naruto which was pointless, mind numbing, non character building filler that I’d gotten used to, this is a breath of fresh Naruto air XD
